Aging in Place in Manufactured Housing
Manufactured home parks represent a major source of affordable housing for older adults living on fixed, limited incomes. We used focus groups and interviews with park residents and participant observation to explore why older adults choose to live in manufactured home parks. We explored if and how the physical and social environment of manufactured housing communities support aging in place.
As a board member of Oregon’s statewide association of manufactured home park residents, MH-OSTA, we continue to support grassroots innovation and advocacy in this area.
